（1）使用時應刃向下，在切取土樣時避免歪斜，使其垂直均勻受力下切，使用可將環(huán)刀涂抹少許凡士林。使用完畢后，應將環(huán)刀擦洗干凈并涂些保護油等，以防生銹。

（2）環(huán)刀的校驗。環(huán)刀每年至少校正次，并求出其體積和質(zhì)量。環(huán)刀的內(nèi)徑需用卡尺測量，并要轉(zhuǎn)動不同角度至少三個直徑，準確至0.1mm，大差值不得超過標準值的1%，取平均值。環(huán)刀質(zhì)量需要用感量0.01g的天平稱得，準確至0.01g。
